We are thrilled to anounce that the Kentucky Week for the Animals, presented by Animal World USA,  kicks off on Saturday April 19th, 2014.   See our Calendar of Events page for more details on the wide array of events taking place across Kentucky during this amazing Kentucky Week for the Animals.

Visit AWUSA weeks website: www.weeksfortheanimals.org to see how other states have celebrated their week.

Throughout the special week, shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hosting wonderful animal-related special events.  Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens across Kentucky will be joining in as well, each planning activities to celebrate and help animals.

Events will include adoption fairs, free and low cost spay/neuter  events, shelter days, animal programs in libraries, farm animals events and therapy dogs visiting hospitals and living-assisted homes.

Also included are pet food donation drives, a salute to our K9 military and search and rescue dogs,  cat initiatives, special programs at sanctuaries, blessings for the animals, and fun-filled festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the amazing animals! Kentucky Earth Day events will be spotlighted, of course!

Become Involved! Events are being planned now, and we encourage animal lovers everywhere in Kentucky participate!  See the page "Become Involved" on this website for lots of great ideas and suggestions on what you can do.

See the Calendar of Events for exciting events scheduled and please note we will be adding events and activities up to the kickoff of the week. Please call or send us your ideas and suggestions. We want you to help create this special Week for the Animals for the totally awesome state of Kentucky!
