“There is an overpopulation of pit bulls in Louisville and surrounding areas,” said Lindsy Wallace, the KHS Animal Welfare Director who helped spearhead the S.N.I.P. Clinic. “Pit bulls actually have much larger litters than other dog breeds , can birth up to 13 to 14 puppies at a time, more than double the average litter by other canines.”

Greyhound Pets of America Adoption Day

Bowling Green – Petco
1680 Campbell Lane
Bowling Green, KY 42104

Also. Sunday, April 15th from 11 am - 2 pm. Greyhound Pets of America - Nashville (GPA/N) works collaboratively with adopters, with rescue, humane and other greyhound groups and the racing industry to find homes for retired racers. Each year, 20,000 greyhounds retire from U.S. tracks in need of homes. Our targeted adoption territory includes middle Tennessee, northern Alabama and southern and western Kentucky.

Our adoption application, intake and home visit process helps us identify appropriate homes for these gentle, loving dogs and to match people with compatible greyhounds. Retired racers are uniquely suited to live as companion animals. Affectionate and calm, they thrive on human attention and interaction, adjust well to home life and repay the kindness of their people with faithfulness and devotion. Wolf Run Wildlife Sanctuary
Collegiate Internship program

Wolf Run
7376 Old Danville Road
Nicholasville Kentucky
just south of the Camp Nelson Heritage Park and military cemetery

Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge and Educational Facility, Inc.  began its lifesaving efforts in 1993. The facility, located in Nicholasville, KY, was enacted to help innocent animals find a world that was safe, free from abuse and a permanent sanctuary for those that could not be released back into the wild. Wolf Run has grown into a state and USDA licensed educational facility that houses Kentucky native wildlife as well as  African lions to South American cougars, from Wolves and Coyotes to our native Whitetail deer. We work to offer each of them an existence that closely mimics their natural habitats. It is our intense compassion and devotion to caring for these animals that makes Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge such a wonderful place!

Wolf Run's Collegiate Internship Programs
Participation in an internship program offers many benefits to a student. First, it allows a student to both make and develop professional contacts. Second, both full and part-time employment offers become available. Third, students can develop greater understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses. Fourth, students can refine their career goals. Internship programs also hold benefits for the sponsoring organizations. Our interns at Wolf Run are providing motivated workers at no cost to an 501(c)3 non profit charity and furnishing the opportunity to train possible future interns for the organization.

We also rescue homeless, abused, neglected, abandoned, unwanted, and senior dogs and other pets along with other domestic and farm animals in hopes of healing them physically and emotionally then finding quality homes for them to reside in.

Humane Society of Henderson County in Kentucky
Low Income Pit Bull Spay / Neuters only $20.00 -

Humane of Henderson County shelter
203 Drury Lane
Henderson, KY 42420

The Humane Society of Henderson County in Kentucky has obtained a grant to assist with low and no income families with Pit Bull Terriers in Henderson County.

The Pit Bull Terrier vastly overrules any other breed of dog at the shelter.  These dogs are all filling the shelter as stray, unwanted, abused, or neglected dogs and they sit in the shelters

The Humane Society of Henderson County would like to try to reduce the numbers of unwanted animals by offering the funds of this grant to the community in the form of VERY LOW cost spay and neuters to families that are on supplemental, low, or no income (with documentation).

Here is the plan of action.  For just $20.00 The Humane Society of Henderson County will spay and / or neuter your pet and microchip the dog.  The Humane Society will then pick up the cost of the rest.

To get signed up for your Pit Bull to be spay and / or neutered, please come to the shelter to get prequalified and get put on the list of appointments.  You should bring documentation of income to the shelter located at 203 Drury Lane Henderson, KY .  They will set up an appointment and give instructions as to how to prepare.

Remember Pit Bull owners that are going through a rough time, are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to get your animal spay/neutered though this Pit Bull grant program through the Humane Society of Henderson County in Kentucky.

For more information, contact Joshua Cromer at jtcromer@hshcky.org  or  Misty Payne at mpayne@hshcky.org       Phone: 270-826-8966
